WiFi LED Calendar Display
Never miss the next thing — the upcoming event from any public calendar feed, with its date and time.
What you need
- A DataPix, powered on and joined to your WiFi (see Setup).
- A public
.icslink — e.g. Google Calendar's Public address in iCal format (Settings → your calendar → Integrate calendar), or a team, school or holiday feed.
Step by step
-
Open the setup page
From a browser on the same network, open the address shown on the panel.
-
Add a View → Calendar (.ics feed)
Go to Views → New view. On the Add a View page, under News & calendar, pick Calendar (.ics feed).
-
Paste the .ics link
Paste the calendar's public .ics address into Calendar URL.
-
Background animation
The view starts with Confetti twinkling around the edges. Pick any other scene, background, pattern or effect, or None — the preview plays right in the dialog.
-
Arrange and save
Press Add. The event (
Next: …) and its date and time are separate values. Saving also adds the feed to your data sources.
Good to know
- The device checks the feed every 30 minutes and shows the earliest event that hasn't started.
- The feed becomes one of your 8 custom data sources.
- All-day events have no time; change the date value's format to
{value:t%m/%d}to show just the date. - Only the first 24 KB of the file is read, repeating events aren't expanded, and a time without a timezone counts as UTC. A small calendar with just the events you want works best.
